we love safe sex
January 7, 2010In an effort to encourage safe & consensual sex, one of the things we try to do at SMYRC is offer a space where folks can demystify all sorts of things around getting it on. As long as it’s respectful, we try to address any question, no matter how graphic or random. We also offer an array of safer sex supplies such as condoms, lube, dental dams, and female condoms.
As you can imagine, we do a lot of playing with all that good stuff – condom balloons, condoms filled with water and frozen, dental dam taste tests… you get the idea. I think all this play is an incredible way to allow folks to get more comfortable with safer sex supplies; if you’ve opened a condom, blown it up to bigger than your head and batted it around a room with your buddies, aren’t you more likely to feel good and confident using it in sex?
Anyway, for your viewing pleasure, i documented last night’s condom escapades. Photos below… enjoy!
thog blog
January 6, 2010like the good sport he is, sunshine has agreed to wear this sign and box around the space in an effort to encourage folks to submit questions to another youth’s advice column/blog. The box fits in nicely with a long tradition of sunshine playing dress up – my personal favorite was a velvety purple jumpsuit.
other activity tonight includes a veritable vat of pasta, haircuts, steering committee, excitement over the Athens Boys Choir show on Saturday, and a big donation of lots of new craft supplies to get us through the rest of winter (thanks Wyatt!)
